When you get very good at something, there are a few traps you can accidentally lay for yourself:
- Making it more complicated than it has to be, because it’s “too easy” for you – even though your audience still needs it that way.
- Devaluing it, because it’s hard to believe it can be important to others if it’s easy for you.
- Not saying “yes” to more opportunities to do it, because you haven’t gotten used to how little those opportunities will cost you in terms of effort.
When you’re a true whiz at something, that’s a valuable quality! Don’t undermine it with these mistakes. Embrace your skill and its value!
